JACKSONVILLE, April 15, 2019 – David Cawton, a former newspaper and TV journalist, today, began work as Jacksonville Transportation Authority’s (JTA) Media Relations Manager and chief spokesperson.
For the past two years Cawton, a Jacksonville native, has been a reporter at the Jacksonville Daily Record, where he covered business, government and development. Previously, he served as a TV anchor and reporter in Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas.
“We’re pleased that David has joined the JTA team,” said JTA CEO Nathaniel P. Ford Sr. “JTA will be well served by his strong communication skills, good reputation and deep knowledge of the community we serve.”
Cawton will be the first point of contact for media outlets seeking requests from JTA.
