MyJTA and Token Transit Mobile Payment Apps

Purchasing fares and boarding a JTA bus or mobility has never been easier! With the MyJTA or Token Transit mobile applications for iOS and Android smart devices, you can quickly purchase passes and board with just a scan. 

Download the MyJTA App on your smart phone for purchasing single-ride fares, as well as one-day and multi-day bus passes. Save money when you use the app, with discounts available on bus passes and Ferry tickets.

STAR Cards

STAR Cards allow you to load cash value or passes on to the convenience of a card. Use the cash value toward your single-ride bus fare, or more frequent riders can save with single-and multi-day passes.

You can purchase your STAR Card online or from Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) at locations throughout Jacksonville. TVMs accept $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills. There is a change limit of $10 and change is provided in Susan B. Anthony $1 coins. Customers may also use their debit or credit card for purchases.

Single- and multi-day passes start the first time they are used and run for consecutive days for the length of time purchased (i.e. a 7-Day Pass runs for seven days starting on the date it is first used). Rides are unlimited for the designated time period purchased.

Connexion 

Connexion is the JTA's paratransit service for eligible ADA and transportation disadvantaged (TD) riders. If you're interested in learning more about this service, visit the Connexion Paratransit page.

Exact fare is required when you board the vehicle. Drivers do not make change. JTA also sells Connexion ticket books with 10 tickets, each good for a one-way ride. The easiest way to ride is to pay your fare through the MyJTA app and leave the cash at home!

Senior Passengers

Am I required to get a STAR card?
Our passengers who are age 65 and older are eligible to receive a Senior ID STAR Card. This card is required in order to ride for free and must be presented upon boarding. Passengers who don't have a valid Senior ID STAR Card must pay the base cash fare of $1.75.

What documentation is required to obtain a Senior ID STAR Card?
Please bring with you a government-issued photo ID showing your date of birth. Scroll down for locations.

Reduced Fare Passengers

Am I required to get a STAR card?
An ID STAR card is required to receive reduced-fare pricing. All passengers who are eligible for a reduced fare must present a valid Reduced Fare ID STAR Card upon boarding.

What documentation is required to obtain a Reduced Fare ID STAR Card?

  • For recipients of Social Security Disability or Social Security Income: a current award letter
  • For persons with a disability: a JTA reduced-fare application completed by a doctor and statement of disability on physician letterhead
  • For Veterans with a disability: a current letter on VA letterhead stating at least a 50% disability
  • For Medicare recipients: a Medicare card (Red, White and Blue paper card)

Where do I go to have my picture taken for a Senior or Reduced Fare ID STAR Card?
Get your picture taken and obtain your ID STAR Card at:

  • Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center at LaVilla (JRTC)
    100 LaVilla Center Drive
    Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • JTA Operations Campus
    100 N. Myrtle Avenue, Building 2
    Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Armsdale Park-n-Ride
    191 Armsdale Road
    Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
  • Avenues Walk Park-n-Ride Center
    10508 Avenues Walk Boulevard
    Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

JTA offices are not open on Federal holidays.

Can I use my Senior and Reduced Fare ID STAR Card at TVMs or Winn-Dixie locations?
You can reload your ID STAR Card at TVMs or Winn-Dixie locations but cannot purchase a new one. If your card has expired, please bring your old card to the Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center at LaVilla (JRTC), the JTA Operations Campus or Armsdale Park-n-Ride to recertify.


*Persons with disabilities and Medicare cardholders travel at a reduced fare upon presentation of an ID STAR Card (or other transit system Reduced Fare Card). Seniors age 65 and older ride free upon presentation of an ID STAR Card.

**Youth Passes are available for riders age 18 years and under (photo ID may be required for proof of age). Some routes require additional tickets or cash. Save with the purchase of a 31-Day Youth Pass on your STAR Card.
