Connexion

Connexion is JTA's paratransit service, providing destination-to-destination shared public transportation for people with disabilities who are functionally unable to use fixed-route services for some or all of their transportation needs, and for people who are transportation disadvantaged (TD). Connexion customers must be certified as eligible under either the guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or TD program.

Connexion also offers travel training to ADA paratransit-eligible individuals who do have the ability to use fixed-route services. To learn more about JTA's Travel Training Program, please email jtatraveltraining@jtafla.com.

The hours of service for Connexion are the same as those of our fixed-route bus service.

Connexion Uber Opt-in Program

We are happy to announce the new JTA Connexion Uber Opt-in Program began April 2nd, 2026. This is a Curb-to-Curb option for Connexion customers with no advanced booking required.

  • Fare – $3.50 per trip ($1 more than TD)

  • Voucher Discount – Up to $20.00 per trip

The voucher is good for up to 10 trips per week and will be issued every Monday at 12:00 am. Trips will not accumulate and must be used within the week issued. Customer is responsible for costs over $20.

Download the Uber app on your mobile device to take advantage of this new service. The voucher will be stored in your Uber account wallet and fare will be paid directly to Uber.

Trips must be within Duval County, during Connexion hours (5:00 am - 12:00 am), and are only for eligible Connexion clients who have opted in. Fraudulent use will result in removal from the program.

During the first month of the program, wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV) clients can reserve trips by connecting through the Uber app or calling reservations at 904-265-6999.

Reservations

Reservations can be made daily from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m., including weekends and holidays. Same-day trips are not available. Please make your reservation at least one day in advance. Trips can be scheduled up to seven days in advance.

Under ADA regulations, reservation staff may negotiate the requested pick-up time within a one-hour window before or after the passenger’s requested pick-up time. Vehicle pick-up time is based on appointment and vehicle travel time.

Prior to calling, please have the following information available:

  • Name

  • Date of birth

  • Pick-up address, including:

    • Street number, name and direction (if applicable)

    • Building/apartment/suite number

    • Zipcode

    • Landmarks, signage, etc.

  • Desired date and time of appointment

  • Drop-off (destination) address, including:

    • Street number, name and direction (if applicable)

    • Building/apartment/suite number

    • Zipcode

    • Landmarks, signage, etc.

  • Desired return pick-up time (must be at least one hour later than the requested drop-off appointment time)

  • Exact location of pick-up (entrance, building/apartment/suite number)

The reservationist will ask if a mobility aide (wheelchair, walker, cane, crutches, etc.) will be used or if there will be an approved collapsible shopping cart. An approved collapsible shopping cart must not exceed 30" tall, 18” wide, and 18” deep (not including handle and/or wheels).

Be sure to tell the reservationist if you will have a PCA, Escort or service animal.

E-STAR Card

You'll always have your fare ready when you use the E-STAR Card. Easily purchase and reload the card using the link below. Be sure to register your card, too! Registering allows you to set up automatic value-reload options and protect your balance if your card is ever lost or stolen.

Connexion Ticket Books

Connexion passengers can purchase books containing 10 tickets. Each ticket is good for a one-way fare for an ADA or TD customer.

  • ADA Connexion Ticket Book: $20 (contains 10 tickets at $2 each)

  • TD Connexion Ticket Book: $25 (contains 10 tickets at $2.50 each)
