JTA Postpones Round 2 Community Meetings for U²C Phase II PD&E Study
Monday, May 4, 2026 at 4:05 PM
(Jacksonville, FL – May 4, 2026) The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) has postponed the second round of community meetings for the U²C Phase II – Skyway Rehabilitation and Downtown Service Expansion Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study, which were previously scheduled for May 11–14. The meetings will be rescheduled for this fall.
The decision comes as the JTA continues to evaluate feedback received during the initial round of public meetings and works to identify the most effective project alternative options for the Skyway. Based on public feedback, the Authority will also expand its review to include more traditional transit alternatives as part of the ongoing planning process.
Overall rankings, from most supported to least supported:
Alternative 5: Repurpose as Multi-Use Trail & Street-Level AVs
Alternative 2: New Automated People Mover Trains
Alternative 3: Convert Existing Track to AVs

Alternative 4: Remove Structure & Street-Level AVs
