Jacksonville Transportation Authority introduces Cash App on MyJTA App

Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) customers can now use the mobile payment service, Cash App, as a form of payment for JTA services on the MyJTA mobile app. JTA is the first transit agency in the country to offer Cash App for mobile ticketing.

“JTA is always looking for new ways to enhance the rider experience,” said JTA CEO Nathaniel P. Ford Sr. “With JTA being the first transit agency in the country to offer Cash App integration, it further solidifies our commitment to providing easier ways for our community to ride with us, and makes our services more accessible than ever before through the MyJTA app.”

MyJTA will continue to be powered by Moovit, a leading Mobility as a Service (MaaS) solutions provider. MyJTA’s mobile payment capabilities will be offered by Token Transit, JTA’s partner for its mobile payment services.

“We believe in meeting riders where they are and lowering barriers to transit,” said Token Transit CEO Morgan Kikuchi-Conbere. “We are incredibly thankful to work with partners like the Jacksonville Transportation Authority who share these values and are willing to innovate with us to make transit and our world more accessible for all.”

“Moovit, JTA and Token Transit share a vision for making public transit as equitable, accessible and sustainable as possible, and we’re thrilled to continue building support for new integrations in the Moovit-powered MyJTA app,” said Yovav Meydad, Moovit Chief Growth and Marketing Officer.

The update will allow more JTA riders to take advantage of the MyJTA app, which launched in October 2022. When selecting a method of payment at checkout, users will select “Cash App,” after which they will be prompted to connect their MyJTA account to their Cash App account.

JTA customers can then pay for fixed bus routes, First Coast Flyer rides, ReadiRide trips, Clay County Flex routes, and St. Johns River Ferry rides via Cash App. This option will also be available on Gameday Xpress rides to Jacksonville Jaguars games and other select events at EverBank Stadium.
