Safety on the Move

Bringing life-saving education directly to our community.

A Mobile Overdose Prevention & Response Training Initiative

Safety on the Move is a first-of-its-kind mobile training initiative led by the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) in partnership with Community Coalition Alliance, Drug Free Duval, and the North Florida High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA).

Together, we are working to prevent opioid overdoses and save lives by meeting people where they are—with free, fast, and impactful training.

What We Offer

A Mobile Training Classroom

Safety on the Move is a fully retrofitted 40-foot bus transformed into a mobile classroom, delivering overdose prevention education directly into neighborhoods, workplaces, and community events.

Our goal is simple:

Make life-saving knowledge and tools accessible to everyone, including individuals who may not be able to attend traditional trainings.

Fast, Free Training (10 Minutes)

Participants receive a quick, 10-minute training session covering:

  • How to recognize an opioid overdose

  • What not to do in an overdose situation

  • How to respond safely and effectively

  • How to administer Narcan

  • How to administer hands only CPR

  • Why calling 911 is critical

  • Credible Mind: A Self Care Platform

Trainings are offered continuously during events so individuals can join at any time.

Free Narcan (Naloxone)

Every participant receives free Narcan, a life-saving opioid overdose reversal medication.

  • Reverses opioid overdoses by restoring breathing

  • Safe for all ages and will not cause harm if given when opioids are not present

Community Outreach & Event Partnerships

Bring Safety on the Move to Your Event

We proudly partner with community organizations, businesses, and local events across Duval, Nassau, and Clay counties.

Safety on the Move can attend events as a vendor or featured resource, providing:

  • On-site overdose prevention training

  • Free Narcan distribution

  • Community education and engagement

We are especially focused on:

  • High-traffic community areas

  • Locations with limited access to healthcare or training resources

Hosting is simple — we bring everything needed.

We only require:

  • A flat parking surface (cement or gravel)

  • Space for a 40-foot bus

  • A selected date and time (4+hours)

How It Works

  • The bus operates typically for 4 hours per stop

  • Training sessions run continuously throughout the event

  • Participants can drop in at any time

  • No registration required

Why It Matters

  • Opioid overdoses can happen anywhere, anytime

  • Fentanyl, a highly potent opioid, is involved in a large majority of overdose deaths

  • Immediate response can save a life

With the right knowledge and tools, anyone can make a difference.
