In partnership with the City of Jacksonville, the Florida Department of Health for Duval County and other health service organizations, the Jacksonville Transportation Authority provides safe, clean and reliable transportation to available COVID-19 vaccination distribution locations.

Transportation Services

The JTA has bus routes and on-demand services that provide convenient access to several COVID-19 vaccination locations in Jacksonville.

JTA’s ReadiRide service provides affordable, on-call transportation to vaccination locations. To provide additional support to the community during COVID-19 vaccine distribution, we have expanded the coverage of our ReadiRide zones. Applicable zones are listed under each location below. Call (904) 679-4555 to confirm your eligibility and to make a reservation (Monday through Saturday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.) to get you to and from your vaccination appointment.

The safety and health of our customers and employees is a top priority at the JTA. All JTA services, including our buses and ReadiRide service, are regularly cleaned and sanitized throughout the day. We ask our customers to wear masks when riding on all our vehicles and in our facilities and to maintain social distancing.


  • As of November 4, 2021, vaccination is available to the following groups:
    • Individuals 18 years of age or older - All vaccines. 
    • Individuals 12-17 years of age with parent/guardian consent – Pfizer-BioNTech
    • Individuals 5-11 years of age with parent/guardian consent – Pfizer-BioNTech
  • JTA requires customers and employees to wear masks on all transportation services, including buses and ReadiRide service.
  • Seniors age 65 and older ride free on JTA buses and ReadiRide service — simply show your ID.
  • ReadiRide is JTA’s door-to-door service for those who want a scheduled, personal trip. For eligibility and to make a reservation, call (904) 679-4555.

Discounted rides with zTrip 

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) and zTrip launched a new discounted transportation option for trips to COVID-19 vaccination sites in Jacksonville.

zTrip provides on-demand transportation services and through this partnership, will provide rides to COVID-19 vaccination sites for a flat $5 rate, for trips up to 3 miles, a discount of approximately 17% when compared to a normal fare.

Free rides with Uber

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) has partnered with Uber to provide free door-to-door rides to and from COVID-19 vaccination sites in neighborhoods with limited transportation access. The program is part of the JTA’s Ride to Health initiative, providing safe, clean, and reliable transportation to available COVID-19 vaccination distribution locations.

Uber is subsidizing 100 percent of the cost of approximately 4,000 rides. Vouchers are available for trips to ANY vaccination site within the combined area of the following 10 zip codes: 32202, 32204, 32205, 32206, 32208, 32209, 32218, 32219, 32220, and 32254.

The program will run through December 31, 2021. Trips can be scheduled Monday through Sunday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. at no cost to the customer for trips under $25. The Uber Application is required to claim the voucher and can be downloaded from the App Store on Apple Smartphone devices or the Play Store on Google Smartphone Devices.
