Regional Transportation Study Commision Meets for First Time

 JACKSONVILLE, FL — Wednesday a group of 20 leaders from the seven counties of Northeast Florida will converge at the World Golf Village conference center in St. Johns County for the first meeting of the Regional Transportation Study Commission (Commission).  Senate Bill 2470, which was passed by the Florida legislature and signed by Governor Crist earlier this year, established the Commission.

The Commission will have two years to create a regional transportation vision and the plan to implement that vision.  After the study, the Commission will sunset.

The study will cover a seven-county area including Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns County. Each county is represented on the Commission.

Note: The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. and the media and public is welcome to attend. The meeting will be held in the St. Augustine ballroom E.
