JTA to operate Skyway on March 24 for GastroFest

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA – March 15, 2018 – The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) is excited to provide complimentary transportation via the Skyway for GastroFest, Jacksonville’s food festival at their new venue, Jacksonville’s Museum of Science & History (MOSH) and Friendship Fountain! The Skyway will be operational from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 24.

“We are pleased to partner with GastroJax for the fourth year of this exciting festival,” said Lisa Darnall, Vice President of JTA Transit Operations. “With a new venue adjacent to the San Marco Skyway Station and First Coast Flyer Blue Line, we encourage you to “TryTransit” and use the Skyway or a JTA bus as part of your transportation plan.”

Skyway service is available at the following stations: Rosa Parks, Hemming Park, Central, Jefferson, San Marco, Riverplace, and Kings Avenue. However, due to construction of the Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center (JRTC), the Convention Center Skyway Station will remain closed until the JRTC is completed in early 2020.

The event is an all-day celebration of the culinary world of Northeast Florida and includes educational talks, tastings, a marketplace and more. The event will be held on Saturday, March 24 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the Southbank. For more information, visit
