Proposed Service Changes - October

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) is holding a series of meetings to seek the public’s input regarding service changes to JTA bus routes proposed for October. With the safety and well-being of customers in mind, these meetings will be conducted using an open house format that allows you to come and go as you need during the meeting times.

Each open house public meeting will be held on the ground floor of the Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center at LaVilla, near the passenger waiting area. Please continue to practice physical distancing and wear face coverings at all times when inside the JRTC or onboard a JTA bus.

  • Friday, August 7, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Proposed Service Changes

The following are proposed changes to JTA's bus service. These changes are not yet final and are subject to change. If approved by the JTA Board of Directors, they would go into effect on October 5, 2020.

Additional morning trips and increased daytime frequency:

  • Route 1 – North Main
    • Starts 1 hour earlier
    • Frequency improves from 30 minutes to 15 minutes from 5:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
  • Route 3 – Moncrief
    • Starts 1 hour earlier
    • No change to 3A
    • 3B frequency improves from 1 hour to 30 minutes
  • Route 4 – Kings
    • Starts 1 hour earlier
    • Frequency improves from 1 hour to 30 minutes until 5:40 p.m.
  • Route 5 – Park / Blanding
    • Starts 1 hour earlier
    • 5A frequency improves from 1 hour to 30 minutes
    • No change to 5B
  • Route 8 – Beach / Town Center
    • Starts 1 hour earlier
    • No change to 8A
    • 8B frequency improves from 1 hour to 30 minutes until 5:40 p.m.
  • Route 10 – Atlantic
    • Starts 1 hour earlier
    • 10 frequency improves from 1 hour to 30 minutes
    • 10A will run again and will connect with Route 24
  • Route 11 – A. Philip Randolph
    • Starts 1 hour earlier
    • Frequency improves from 1 hour to 30 minutes until 5:45 p.m.
  • Route 12 – Myrtle / Lem Turner
    • Starts 1 hour earlier
    • Frequency improves from 1 hour to 30 minutes until 5:15 p.m.
  • Route 15 – Post / Normandy
    • Starts 1 hour earlier
    • Frequency improves from 1 hour to 30 minutes until 5:30 p.m.
  • Route 19 – Arlington
    • Starts 1 hour earlier
    • Frequency improves from 1 hour to 30 minutes until 5:30 p.m.
  • First Coast Flyer Green Line
    • Headways will be 20 minutes compared to current headways of 30 minutes
  • First Coast Flyer Blue Line
    • Headways will be 20 minutes compared to current headways of 30 minutes
  • First Coast Flyer Red Line
    • Headways will be 20 minutes compared to current headways of 30 minutes

Additional morning trips and afternoon / evening peak-hour trips:

  • Route 13 – Commonwealth / Lane
    • Frequency improves from 1 hour to 30 minutes from 5:15 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Additional morning trips:

  • Route 14 – Edison
  • Route 16 – Riverside / Wilson
  • Route 17 – St. Augustine Road / San Jose
  • Route 18 – Atlantic / Monument
  • Route 21 – Boulevard / Gateway
  • Route 22 – Avenue B
  • Route 25 – San Jose / Southpoint
  • Route 50 – University
  • Route 51 – Edgewood
  • Route 53 – Commonwealth / Cassat

Route adjustments:

  • Route 28 – Southside Boulevard / Sunbeam: route changes
    • Slight change due to no longer interlining with Route 26
    • Route will travel north on State Road 13 at its southern end to make a loop
