June 13th Service Enhancements


The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) is pleased to announce the next round of service enhancements will begin Monday, June 13, 2022 following recommendations and customer feedback. 

JTA service enhancements include improvements to on-time performance and timing updates on select routes. In planning these changes, JTA has made every effort to minimize the impact to customers. Multiple routes will have adjustments in frequency spread throughout the schedule on the days noted in the details below. 

Yellow schedules are now available for customers to review on board routes that are being adjusted and at the Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center at LaVilla. For questions or concerns, please reach out to JTA Customer Service at (904) 630-3100

JTA Bus Routes & First Coast Flyer Routes

June Service Enhancements include modifications and time adjustments for several JTA bus and First Coast Flyer Routes to improve service reliability, on-time performance and customer experience. Click the blue links on each route to view the new schedules:

ReadiRide expanding to 15 zones, covering 174 square miles

JTA’s on-call neighborhood mobility service is expanding as part of the June Service Enhancements, growing to 15 zones covering 174 sqaure miles. This includes two new ReadiRide zones in Mayport and Wheat Road. Nine existing ReadiRide Zones are being expanded or modified to better serve customers in those neighborhoods.

Wheat Road ReadiRide

The new Wheat Road ReadiRide Zone will partially overlap with the Collins Road ReadiRide Zone, expanding coverage between 103rd street, Shindler Drive, Park City Drive and Blanding Boulevard. Key destinations include the Oak Hill Village and the Anchor Plaza shopping centers.

You can use the Wheat Road ReadiRide service to connect to the First Coast Flyer Orange Line and JTA Bus Routes 13, 16, 30, 31 and 53.


Mayport ReadiRide

The new Mayport ReadiRide Zone will partially overlap with the existing Beaches ReadiRide Zone, expanding coverage for Mayport and Atlantic Beach.

This new zone will cover key destinations from Atlantic Boulevard North to Naval Air Station Mayport and the St. Johns River Ferry and along Shoreline Drive, west to the Intracoastal Waterway.

You can take ReadiRide to any JTA Bus stop – including Routes 10, 24 and 202 in Mayport.


Changes to Existing ReadiRide Zones

Nine existing ReadiRide Zones are being expanded to provide greater access to key businesses, retail, dining, and medical services across Jacksonville. Expansions are coming to the following ReadiRide Zones (please click each link to view the new maps):

The Highlands, Arlington, University and Southeast ReadiRide Zones will continue to operate as they do today.

ReadiRide, a service offered by the JTA through Owl Inc., provides affordable, on-call transportation to customers in 15 Jacksonville communities. For more information about ReadiRide, click here.

St. Johns River Ferry Expanded Operating Hours

Beginning May 27, the St. Johns River Ferry will feature expanded hours on Friday evenings with service running until 9 p.m. (last trip out of Ft. George Island leaves at 8:45 p.m.) 

The St. Johns River Ferry is a car and passenger ferry that connects the north and south ends of Florida State Road A1A in Duval County, linking Mayport Village and Ft. George Island via a pleasant sail across the St. Johns River. The 0.9-mile voyage crosses the St. Johns River 2.5 miles inland of the river’s mouth. The trip takes roughly 5 minutes and departs every half hour.
