JTA to Provide Transportation Disadvantaged Service in Clay County

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA – December 14, 2018 – The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) Board of Directors approved a contract amendment with MV Transportation, Inc. to include the provision of Transportation Disadvantaged (TD) paratransit services in Clay County. JTA responded to an emergency request by the Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged State Agency to be the Community Transportation Coordinator (CTC) for Clay County, Florida.

Effective, January 1, 2019, JTA’s contractor MV Transportation will provide paratransit services for the Transportation Disadvantaged community in Clay County to ensure that TD existing customers continue to have reliable transportation. JTA will act as the CTC from January 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020. Please call 904.284.5977 to make a reservation.

JTA will continue to operate the Clay Regional Express (Route 201) from the Black Creek Park-n-Ride located at 2511 County Road 220 and has no plans at this time to assume operation of Clay Transit’s public bus service known as Flex Routes (Green, Blue, Red, Purple, Orange, Magenta or Teal). The future of the Flex Routes is unknown at this time.
