4th of July Hours and Services

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA – June 19, 2017 – The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) is pleased to provide Skyway service on Tuesday, July 4 from 5 p.m. to midnight for the annual Independence Day Celebrations on the St. Johns River.

Complimentary parking will be available in the JTA's Houston and Johnson Street surface lots north of the Convention Center Skyway Station, located at 1071 W. Bay Street. Paid Parking is also available at the Kings Avenue Garage (credit card payment only).

Skyway Schedule:
• Monday, July 3        6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Tuesday, July 4        5 p.m. to 12 a.m. 

Due to July 4th fireworks activities planned in the vicinity of the Acosta Bridge, the Skyway will suspend service crossing the Acosta Bridge to the Southbank Stations (San Marco, Riverplace and Kings Ave.) from 9:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Skyway will continue with normal service to the stations on the north side of the river (Convention Center, Central Station, Hemming Park and Rosa Parks) and the south side of the river (San Marco, Riverplace and Kings Avenue) during the fireworks show. Service will resume across the Acosta Bridge when the fireworks are complete and the track has been cleared of any possible debris.

Beachside Buggies’ on-demand service will be available with complimentary on-demand transportation in Jacksonville, Neptune and Atlantic Beach communities. It operates between Penman Road on the west, Plaza on the north, the ocean on the east and 16th Avenue South in Jacksonville Beach. Beachside Buggies will operate a scheduled service during the summer along First Street between Atlantic Blvd. on the north and Beach Blvd. on the south. The scheduled service will operate on Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to midnight.

On Tuesday, July 4, JTA buses will operate on a Sunday schedule. JTA administrative offices and the customer call center will be closed. The ticket booth at Rosa Parks Transit Station will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Due to JRTC construction, the Convention Center Skyway Station will close on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 and will remain closed until the JRTC is completed in late 2019.

In addition, the Jefferson Station will temporarily close due to the ongoing construction activities of the Lofts at LaVilla housing project. Jefferson Station will close on July 5, 2017 and reopen upon completion of the Lofts at LaVilla.
