Be at the Sign

How to Signal a Bus Operator to Stop and Pick You Up

Your bus driver works hard to get you to your destination on time. With increased traffic and passengers, keeping the bus on schedule is a challenge. Here are some things you can do to help:

  • Be at the bus stop at least 5 minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive.
  • When you see a bus approaching, look at the destination sign above the front windshield of the bus to verify the route number. To let the bus operator know you want to board, please stand and wait near the curb at the designated bus stop sign.  Wave to the bus operator so that he or she knows to stop. Be sure to stand safely in open view, but do not stand in the street. #beatthesign
