Community Partnerships


JTA enjoys an ongoing partnership with the City of Jacksonville through its role in The Better Jacksonville Plan.

A strong partnership exists between JTA and the Florida Department of Transportation whose District 2 Secretary sits as a member of the JTA Board of Directors.

As Community Transportation Coordinator, JTA partners with the Transportation Disadvantaged Board.

JTA works with the North Florida Transportation Planning Organization in its regional transportation planning efforts.

A partnership with CareerSource Northeast Florida enhances job opportunities for employable citizens through JTA's Ride Request and ChoiceRide programs.

The JEA's electric system currently serves 360,000 customers in Jacksonville and parts of three adjacent counties. JEA's water serves more than 200,000 water customers and 148,000 sewer customers, or more than 80% of all water and sewer utility customers in our service area.

The Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) is a full-service international trade seaport in Northeast Florida. JAXPORT fosters cargo and passenger commerce through three modern seaport facilities, an activity that supports more than 45,000 jobs in the Jacksonville Florida area.

The Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) owns and manages the Jacksonville Airport System. The Jacksonville Airport System is a diversified airport system that serves the commercial, business and recreational aviation needs of the City of Jacksonville, Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia (the Community).

Downtown Vision, Inc. (DVI) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to build and maintain a healthy and vibrant Downtown community. The organization promotes Downtown as an exciting place to live, work, play and visit.


American Public Transportation Association

APTA's mission is to serve and represent its members in making public transportation an effective path to economic opportunity, personal mobility, and improving the quality of life through partnerships, communication, technology and advocacy.

Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO)

COMTO's mission is to improve the quality of life for minorities in the transportation industry as well as our communities by creating opportunities and providing comprehensive information and services.

Florida Association of Minority Business Enterprise Officials (FAMBEO)

FAMBEO was founded by a group of minority men and women business enterprise professionals whose goal was to share information with administrators in the process of creating and promoting equal opportunities in federal, state and local governmental agencies in the areas of procurement and contracting.

Florida Public Transportation Association (FPTA)

FPTA's mission is to provide a forum for public transit service providers and affiliated organizations to exchange experiences and studies and to engage in meaningful discussion of mutual problems, concerns and issues.

Floridians for Better Transportation

Floridians for Better Transportation is a statewide business and transportation association dedicated to making transportation safer and more efficient in Florida.

Jacksonville Community Council Inc. (JCCI)

JCCI is a nonpartisan civic organization that engages diverse citizens in open dialogue, research, consensus building and leadership development to improve the quality of life and build a better community in Northeast Florida and beyond.


TEAMFL is a collaborative effort among transportation-related agencies throughout the state, designed to provide an avenue for positive idea sharing and strong partnerships. TEAMFL explores potential policies and represents policies to advance official causes to the Florida Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration.

Transportation Research Board (TRB)

The Transportation Research Board is a unit of the National Research Council, a private, nonprofit institution that is the principal operating agency of the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Engineering. The Board's mission is to promote innovation and progress in transportation by stimulating and conducting research, facilitating the dissemination of the information and encouraging the implementation of research results.
