DESCRIPTION:
Widen the existing roadway to four lanes, divided with landscaped
median, bike lanes and sidewalks. View

STATUS:
Current Activity: CONSTRUCTION PHASE: The Contractor,
Superior Construction Co., began roadway construction July 5,
2006. The section from St. Johns Bluff to Monument Road has
been opened to traffic. In addition, eastbound and westbound
traffic, from St. Johns Bluff to Ft. Caroline Road west, has
been switched to the new north lanes and bridges. Finalizing
construction of the southerly bridge,for Gin House Creek.
Funding: 1997 Bond Fund allocation is $7,092,988,
FDOT (Federal) Funding is $4,400,000; additional funding is
provided by the revised BJP Program and a State TRIP grant of
$18.24 million.
Schedule: Construction is scheduled to be completed
in the fourth quarter of 2008. View map

DBE/MBE
DBE participation will conform with JTA policy. Construction
contract provides for 15.6% DBE participation.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES:
Enhanced landscaping with irrigation requested by CoJ; will
be bid under separate contract.
