Status Report is for July 18, 2008

DESCRIPTION:
The FDOT is responsible for design, right-of-way, permitting
and construction of this project, which consists of constructing
a two-lane roadway from 103rd Street to New World Avenue (Cecil
Commerce Center); a four-lane roadway from New World Avenue
to I-10; and a new interchange at I-10. This section of Branan
Field Chaffee Road will complete the link from Argyle Forest
Blvd. to I-10.
STATUS:
Current Activity: DESIGN PHASE: Design contract
awarded by FDOT to Parsons Transportation Group.
Funding: BJP Program allocation was $14 million.
A transfer of $8 million from the Forest Street project and
$3.8 million from SR 9A (I-295 to US1) revised the total allocation
for this project to $25.8 million. A $32 million SIB loan is
available in 2006.
Schedule: FDOT design completed. R/W is complete.
Bids were received in late September 2006. Construction began
in February 2007, with completion expected in the first quarter
of 2010.
DBE/MBE
DBE participation will conform to FDOT policies.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES:
FHWA required widening of I-10 to six lanes, from new interchange
east to I-295, is currently under design. Construction scheduled
for fiscal year 2008/2009.
