Status Report is for July 18, 2008
DESCRIPTION:
This is a BJP Program Intersection Improvement Program project
to construct at-grade improvements at this intersection.
STATUS:
Current Activity: DESIGN PHASE: The Intersection
Component Evaluation (ICE) Study recommended at-grade improvements
for this intersection. The consultant, Parsons Transportation
Group, has submitted 90% roadway design plans.
A public meeting regarding JTA plans to improve the Atlantic/University
intersection was held February 21, 2008 at the Love Grove Elementary
School.

Funding: Revised BJP Program allocation is
$13.9 million.
Schedule: Design of the revised project will
be completed by Parsons Transportation Group in the third quarter
of 2008.
DBE/MBE
MBE participation will conform with JTA policy.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES:
Preserving the surrounding neighborhoods, while providing traffic
congestion relief and improving safety at the intersection,
and reducing air pollution along the transportation corridor.
