DESCRIPTION:
This is a BJPProgram Intersection Improvement Program project
to construct an interchange at the intersection.
STATUS:
Current Activity: CONSTRUCTION PHASE:JTA is
finalizing contractual arrangements with Hubbard Construction.
A public meeting regarding this project was held on March 6,
2007 at the Kernan Middle School.

Funding: Revised BJP Program allocation is
$44.94 million.
Schedule: Construction contract award to Hubbard
Construction Co. was authorized in March 2008. A construction
start date in August 2008 is anticipated.
DBE/MBE
MBE participation will conform with JTA policies.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES:
Preserving the surrounding neighborhoods, while providing traffic
congestion relief and improving safety at the intersection,
and reducing air pollution along the transportation corridor.
Maintaining safety during construction will be a major priority.
