JTA History

JTA provides rush-hour transportation to employment centers from all corners of our city, serving transit patrons with inexpensive and reliable service while at the same time reducing congestion on major and minor roadways. In addition to JTA's role in job access, the agency employs more than 700 people from the local area. On the highway side, approximately 90% of JTA expenditures for road and bridge construction is returned to the local economy. Today there are over 200 local construction employees working on JTA road and bridge projects.
