Walgreens Partners with JTA; Will Sell Bus Passes in 30 Jax Stores

JACKSONVILLE, FL — Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) and local Walgreens stores have teamed up to provide customers with a safe and easy way to purchase weekly and monthly bus passes. Walgreens is the latest in a growing list of area retailers who have become JTA Pass Partners, joining select Save-a-Lot and Winn Dixie locations, select Duval County Tax Collector offices, the UPS Store on Hogan Street in downtown Jacksonville and the Postal Annex on  Dunn Avenue, where passengers can now purchase their passes.

JTA riders can now purchase $12 weekly or $40 monthly bus passes at their local Walgreens while completing other shopping. Buyers can also utilize the Walgreens’ debit/credit payment options for additional shopping convenience. The monthly passes are good from the first to the last day of the month in which they are purchased, and weekly passes are good from Monday to Sunday of the week purchased.

“We understand that our customers are busy. So finding the time to purchase transit passes in a convenient location is important,” says Carlos Tobar, JTA Mass Transit Director. “By partnering with Walgreens, we’re hopeful our customers will find the new arrangement both convenient and time saving.”

JTA bus passes are available at any of the following 30 Walgreens locations (only those in the JTA service area will sell passes) beginning June 1.
