UPDATED: McDuff Avenue to Close

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority has reached a point in the construction on the McDuff Avenue project where closing McDuff Avenue at the north CSX railroad crossing (closest to Beaver Street) for the installation of a new CSX crossing is required.

Weather delays have moved back scheduled traffic detours until the second or third week of October (was September).  Once the detours will continue for approximately 3-4 weeks.  As this is a CSX project, the exact date is not yet known. We will post the date on the JTA web site (www.jtafla.com) and it will appear on the electronic message boards in the project area.

The message board locations will include both eastbound and westbound traffic on Beaver Street; for northbound traffic on McDuff (prior to the railroad tracks) and southbound traffic on McDuff (north of Beaver Street ) announcing the closure.  Further, a traffic alert will posted on the JTA web site.

Construction on the entire McDuff Avenue project is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2009.
