Summer Youth Pass BOGO Offer Returns

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA – June 7, 2016 – Get your Youth STAR Card today! The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) invites youth ages 7-18 to purchase a 31-day pass on the Purple Youth ID STAR Card today through July 31 and receive a second pass free. This amounts to 62 days of travel for only $30. This deal is limited to youth with a “purple” ID STAR Card only. Discounts are not given for single rides or other types of passes.

“This BOGO offer makes it affordable and convenient to use public transit this summer,” said JTA Chief Executive Officer Nathaniel P. Ford Sr. “Public transit is an essential mobility option to travel to work, school, libraries, the beach, parks and more. We encourage parents and youth to make use of this special offer.”

When customers use a STAR Card instead of cash, it saves time and money. The Youth ID STAR Card opens up a summer of independence and adventure for youth wanting to explore Jacksonville. STAR Cards be loaded and reloaded for up to three years with value passes or cash value online. The card also features Balance Protection.

Youth ages 7-18 years old will be required to have a valid, purple Youth STAR Card with his or her photo I.D. on the back in order to obtain the BOGO 31-day pass deal at the discounted rate of $30 (vs. the standard cost of $50).

To take advantage of this valuable offer, youth between 7 and 18 years of age must visit the STAR Card office at Rosa Parks Transit Station in downtown Jacksonville. Individuals should bring eligibility documentation such as a school I.D. and a birth certificate or other government issued I.D. Children ages 7-14 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The staff will verify eligibility, take photos and issue a new purple Youth STAR Card. When a youth 31-day pass is purchased for $30, Rosa Park staff will load a second 31-day pass on the same purple STAR Card for free.
