Rosa Parks Station Escalator Upgrade Starts April 14

As part of the JTA’s Skyway Station improvement project, the JTA will begin upgrading the escalators in the Rosa Parks Transit Station starting Monday, April 14, 2014.

The project is expected to be completed late July 2014. Upgrades will provide more modern and reliable service to JTA customers.

During the construction, the north end station elevator and the stairs across from the elevator will be open to the public as usual. JTA will temporarily relocate the information/ticketing booth to a temporary location east of the terminal, which is ADA accessible. The STAR Card ticket vending machines (TVM) will be temporally located near the elevator.  Special signage is available to assist customers during construction. The water fountains will also be relocated near the restrooms during the construction.

We ask that customers remember to be respectful of our senior customers and those with disabilities during the temporary period when the elevators will be in greater demand. Also, customers should cross bus lanes with care and practice safety first at all times.
