Public Forum on January 17 to discuss JTA Skyway

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA – January 12, 2017 – The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) will host a public forum on Tuesday, January 17 to provide the community with an update on the Skyway Modernization Plan.

In December 2016, staff presented the JTA Board of Directors with a framework that includes autonomous vehicles and extension recommendations. Community input is critical during plan development.

If you have not noticed, many of the Skyway vehicles received a fresh new look in the fall. The system is 27 years old and the vehicles were in need of a face-lift. The existing vehicles were updated with a silver and blue color scheme that gives us an opportunity to use JTA’s current branding. Look for the vehicles as they glide over the St. Johns River and above Downtown city streets. Also coming is updated Skyway station signage and other improvements.

Community feedback about the future of the Skyway is important to us. Please take a few moments to complete a new short survey at www.jtafla.com/skywaysurvey
