Presidential Visit Causes Detours/Road Closures

President Barack Obama will pay a visit to Downtown Jacksonville Thursday, July 19. There will be some road/ service closures and bus detours. The Skyway will be closed between Central and Convention Center stations from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.  Shuttle service will be operating (between  Convention Center, Jefferson Street and Central stations) during the affected closure time. The exact passenger pick up location will be in the vicinity of Houston and Lee Street for the Convention Center and near Jefferson and Bay for the Jefferson Street station. If there is any total lock down of any street in the vicinity of the Convention Center, it is expected to be temporary (15 minutes or less).

If you park in the convention center lot and ride the Skyway to work, you will still be able to access your parking space before 10 a.m. and use the Skyway. We hope to have clearance to open the Skyway back up no later than 5 p.m.

Buses will be rerouted as well.
