JTA Supports Earth Day

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) will celebrate Earth Day by taking part in the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens’ Party for the Planet on Saturday, April 25. Adults and children can visit the JTA’s table from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., to learn how the agency continues to seek out new opportunities to support green initiatives. Some current examples of how the JTA is going green include its reduction in fuel consumption and operating its busses on low-sulfur diesel fuel. Guests at Party for the Planet will also learn how to take care of the planet by visiting environmental and animal conservation booths throughout the zoo.

The JTA will also participate in the 2nd Biannual Jacksonville Green Expo from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 26, at the Prime Osborn Convention Center . The purpose of the Green Expo is to educate individuals, communities, businesses and policy makers in an effort to promote sustainable living through efficient, renewable energy and the conservation of water and land resources.

Look for us at both events.
