JTA DRIVER RAMON FARFAN IS RETURNING TO DEFEND HIS
LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE

WHAT:
The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) will host the 2013 Florida State Bus Roadeo. Twelve public transit authorities from across the state will have bus operators driving and competing on a course designed to test every phase of operation that a bus operator will encounter in normal driving situations. The course contains ten problems that test an operator’s ability to negotiate left and right forward turns, left and right backing turns, passenger stops, and judgment problems. There will also be a bus maintenance competition held during the event.  Winners will advance to the 2013 International Bus Roadeo in Indianapolis, Indiana.

WHY:
The Annual Florida State Bus Roadeo is designed to enhance and promote the improvement of public transportation by affording Florida transit authorities the means to provide their bus operators and technicians the opportunity to demonstrate professional skills and to be recognized.
