Convention Center Skyway Station to close on July 5 for JRTC Construction

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA – May 15, 2017 – After decades of planning, the JTA is excited to move forward with the construction of the Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center (JRTC) this July. Due to construction, the Convention Center Skyway Station will close on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 and will remain closed until the JRTC is completed in late 2019.

In addition, the Jefferson Station will temporarily close due to the ongoing construction activities of the Lofts at LaVilla housing project. Jefferson Station will close on July 5, 2017 and reopen upon completion of the Lofts at LaVilla.

Parking at the Convention Center Terminal and West Terminal will also be discontinued on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. Customers that continue to park in other lots that are near the Convention Center can take Route 12 from Forsyth and Lee streets to Downtown.

Skyway trains will continue to provide service to the following stations: Rosa Parks, Hemming Park, Central, San Marco, Riverplace, and Kings Avenue. The system will continue to operate as scheduled, Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and weekends for special events.
