JTA Future Plans

BRT Tier One Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS)

As we started moving the Bus Rapid Transit component of our vision from concept into planning, JTA initiated a Tier One Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS), which is the first of a series of required studies, to evaluate alignment alternatives, transit stop locations, environmental constraints and more in all four BRT corridors from January – December 2007.

At the completion of the PEIS, JTA prioritized the north as the first of the four corridors to advance into the Environmental Assessment (EA) study, which is the next level of study where JTA will conduct more analysis and refinement of the station locations and system alignments identified in the PEIS study.
