JTA Launches New Initiative to Generate Additional Revenue
The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) today announced the creation of a new enterprise aimed at developing new, non- transportation revenues through innovative advertising opportunities.
The new department will be responsible for exploring various ways JTA can develop and sell new forms of transit advertising.
“The JTA, like many public entities, has seen its revenue sources reduced significantly in recent years,” said JTA Executive Director/CEO Michael Blaylock. “In order for us to continue providing quality service to Jacksonville residents, we must look for alternative funding. Leveraging our existing assets to produce additional, non-transportation revenue is the prudent course of action.”
JTA has tapped Director of External Affairs Mike Miller to lead the new initiative in the position of Director of Business Development and Corporate Sales.
“Mike is the ideal person to spearhead this important new business line,” Blaylock said. “He understands our entire organization, he understands the community and has years of valuable experience as a communicator.”
Wendy Morrow, JTA Manager of Marketing, will assume the role as JTA spokesperson on an interim basis.
