2009 Fall Service Modifications

 

NS2 8th St./Avenue B

It is proposed that the current NS2 and NS14 service be merged to form a new route which would connect River City Marketplace, Gateway and the Rosa Parks Transfer Station. Service highlights include streamlining the NS2 and expanding the service to include segments of Fairfax, 2nd Street and Myrtle Avenue, formally served by the NS40.  Connecting the Rosa Parks Transfer Station with Gateway and the River City Market Place Shopping Center . The new route is proposed to be called NS19 Avenue B-River City Marketplace.

NS14 Myrtle-Main-River City Marketplace 

Combining the NS14 and NS2 as described above, modifying the service between the Gateway Shopping Center and River City Marketplace.

New Broward Road Community Shuttle

To support the proposed redesign of NS2 and NS14 two new community shuttle routes are presented.  The first one would operate on Broward Road between FCCJ North Campus and the Highlands Shopping Center .  The service will provide deviations upon request serving the Imeson Industrial Complex.

New Northside Community Shuttle

A second new shuttle service is proposed to operate between 13th Street and Division to the Gateway Shopping Mall via, 8th Street to Pearl Street to 44th Street to Gateway with deviations.  The service would connect with the redesigned NS2/NS14 at 13th and Fairfax streets and at the Gateway Shopping Center .  The new route would serve Hogan Creek Towers , Twin Towers and the Mary Singleton Senior Center complexes with service to Gateway and the Shands Medical Center including the VA Clinic.

New Southside-Beach Community Shuttle

Being considered, a new community shuttle service, with deviations operating between Beaches Baptist, the Mayo Clinic, UNF, St. Johns Town Center , and Avenues Mall. 
 

AR3 Townsend

Being evaluated, extending the current route east on Ft. Caroline Road to Raymur Villa Drive and vacating the Ft. Caroline Hills Drive/Hermitage/Ft. Caroline Road loop.

WS52 Commuter Express

JTA is proposing to operate limited express service between Orange Park and Downtown.  Being considered possible extension of service into Clay County using the Orange Park K-Mart as a turn around point.

B6 Stockton-Wilson

The proposal is to stop the B6 at 103rd Street and Ricker Road to improve frequency between downtown and 103rd Street and cover the area between 103rd Street and Cecil Commerce area with a community shuttle.  

New Cecil Community Shuttle

Being evaluated, new community shuttle with deviations operating west on 103rd Street between Old Middleburg Road and the Cecil Commerce Center .  The new service would connect with the B6 at 103rd Street and Hillman Street.

SS6 Beach Blvd./Town Center/UNF

Being evaluated, ending the current service at the Kings Avenue Skyway Station Monday through Friday. Weekends would not change. This will improve the frequency of this route-proposed 45 minute frequency.

SS8 Spring Park/San Souci

Being evaluated, ending the current service at the Kings Avenue Skyway Station, Monday through Friday with no change in week end service. This will improve the reliability of this route.

San Jose Ride Request

Being evaluated, merging the San Jose and Avenues Ride Request routes into one service, Mandarin Community Shuttle.

Being evaluated, merging the San Jose and Avenues Ride Request routes into one service becoming the Mandarin Community Shuttle.

Plans to drop Saturday service, except for special events, is under consideration.
