Community Shuttles

JTA’s Community Shuttles are your neighborhood transportation solution. They work just like traditional JTA buses with regular stops and regular schedules, but they can be customized to fit individual travel needs within their service areas. Community Shuttles also connect with traditional bus routes so you can travel anywhere JTA goes. The vehicles accommodate paratransit riders and may be more convenient than JTA Paratransit.

How to Ride
You can board at a stop designated by a Community Shuttle sign at a regularly scheduled time (check the printed schedule or visit—just as you would ride a regular JTA bus. Or you can schedule premium curbside service where the Community Shuttle will pick you up or drop you off at a specific location within the service area.

You do not need to make reservations if you get on or off the Community Shuttle at a designated stop. Curbside service reservations must be made at least two hours in advance or up to three calendar days before you plan to travel. JTA will make every attempt to accommodate curbside service reservation requests; however, pickup or drop-off times may have to be negotiated based on vehicle availability.

Regular fare is $1.50 each way. Individuals with a reduced fare card ride for 75¢. Seniors 60 and older ride free with a government-issued photo ID. Bus tickets and weekly and monthly passes are accepted.

An additional fee of 50¢ per trip will be charged for curbside service. If you are picked up or dropped off anywhere other than a designated stop, you will be charged the fee for each pickup or drop-off. This fee applies to all fare categories including seniors and reduced fare card holders with the exception of Paratransit passengers using Community Shuttle. That deviation fee is waived.
